The very first Bibian Mentel Playground is located in Loosdrecht! In 2019, Ty and Jazz started a residents' initiative to bring a PumpTrack to Loosdrecht. They collected more than 600 signatures with their action, Bibian Mentel, multiple Paralympic champion, read about the idea and was immediately enthusiastic. She joined the initiative with the Bibian Mentel Foundation. Bibian passed away on March 29, 2021. The Bibian Mentel Foundation wants to continue her dream and give everyone the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. Together with the municipality of Wijdemeren and the municipality of Hilversum, a location was found and the financial resources were raised. The first Bibian Mentel Playground is practically in the backyard of Bibian's house and it is a place where children with and without a physical disability can play together. The PumpTrack is the centerpiece and is specially designed for riding with a wheelchair, there is a wallride for an extra challenge and there is also a kids track for aspiring PumpTrack riders. In short; an inclusive place for everyone!
