PumpTrack in your municipality

Step-by-step plan

Would you also like a PumpTrack in your municipality, city or village?

Of course everyone wants a PumpTrack in his/her city or village, but where do you start? As a resident of a city or village, you have quite a lot to say about the sports and play areas that a municipality builds. A PumpTrack is a great opportunity, but it will not be build by itself! The steps below will help you on your way to increasing your chances with the municipality.

Timeline

Step 1 - Gather a group

Together you stand strong! Gather a group of enthusiasts (children, youth and parents) who want to help go through these steps. A group of 4-6 people works best.

Step 2 – Find your petition page

Find your petition page. We have already set up a petition page for each municipality. So you can get started right away. If your municipality is not listed, or if you would like a petition for one city or village, request one from us!

Share the petition page immediately with your family, friends and acquaintances so that you can get the first signatures!

Step 3 - Create a Facebook page

Create a Facebook page with the name of your PumpTrack, for example: "PumpTrack Utrecht." Bonus: create an Instagram account or post a cool video just like the initiators from Loosdrecht!

Use our photos and videos to fill the Facebook (and Instagram) page. and invite as many people as possible to like your Facebook page and of course sign your petition.

Step 4 - Create a poster

Make a poster with a link to the petition and the Facebook (and Instagram) page. Distribute this poster in your area, for example at schools, sports clubs, supermarkets and the town hall. Of course you can also make a flyer from the poster and hand it out to the people!

Watch out, the signatures are pouring in now ?

Step 5 – Make contact with the alderman

Contact the responsible alderman at the municipality. You can find out who this is via the municipality's website, or you can inquire at the town hall. Send him/her a nice e-mail or letter asking what it takes to get a PumpTrack in your municipality. Making contact via LinkedIn or Twitter can also sometimes help. You can also choose to immediately include step 6 in your first contact.

Be sure to include in your message:

    • why you would like a PumpTrack
    • you collect signatures, and more people want a PumpTrack
    • a link to a nice example project, for example the track in Uden

Step 6 - Make a plan

After the response of the alderman, you should probably get started with a plan. The mayor may have some questions. You can answer this in the plan, or he/she may invite you for a meeting.

We are happy to help you with making the plan or preparing for the interview. Download the format on the right and fill it in as you wish.

Together with you, we can look at, for example, a cost budget and a suitable location. In addition, we can also join as an expert in, for example, the conversation with the alderman. Our advice is without obligation and free of charge.

Step 7 - Spread the love

Spread the PumpTrack love! Share your initiative with as many people as possible, such as steppers, skaters, BMX riders and of course all parents and children at school.

With a bit of luck we will soon be building a beautiful new PumpTrack with you!!
