PumpTrack Skills Garden Almere

We build from the vision to make sports and games accessible and we think it is important that everyone can develop in the field of sport, regardless of age or background. The PumpTrack as social meeting places for young and old, and where everything with wheels can go. This idea is a perfect match with the Athletic Skills Model (ASM), and we were therefore very honored that René Wormhoudt, founder of the Athletic Skills Model, asked us to add a PumpTrack to the Skills Garden Almere.

This PumpTrack was commissioned by Dusseldorp realized for the municipality of Almere. The track was built in the summer of 2019. There was a fairly tight deadline, but that did not prevent us from delivering a track that fully met the requirements. In addition to the PumpTrack, we were also able to advise on the 'WaveLine'. A concept within the Skills Garden in which the pump technique can be applied even more widely and wheelchair users also have access to these types of facilities.

About ASM and the Skills Garden:

De Skill Garden is a new way of thinking about sports and play facilities. It offers a place in the public space that is all about stimulating, challenging and enjoying exercise. A place that is part of the living environment, of work and leisure time and where people can meet and be together.

The physical elements that are used in the Skills Garden have the great advantage that they are interesting for many different target groups (young people, the elderly, the disabled, top sports, associations, etc.). And what could be better than a public space where different target groups, both organized and unorganized, can come to exercise and be together. The design of the Skills Garden is tailor-made. Together with the various stakeholders in the area (residents, education, care institutions, personal trainers, etc.), the Skills Garden is set up and the environment is included in the thinking of the Athletic Skill Model. In this way, in addition to the design, we also immediately ensure support and involvement from the environment.
