Mega asphalt pump track in Roosendaal!
On Saturday, March 10, 2018, during the opening of the WielerExperience in Roosendaal, the world's largest asphalt pump track was opened. Tim Smit and his team from Velosolutions Benelux advised in the preliminary phase, and designed and built the pump track in the period from March to November 2017. With an area of almost 14 tennis courts and a length of 500 meters, this was the largest asphalt at the time of writing pump track of the world.
The WielerExperience is a cycling park on the former Red Band athletics site in Roosendaal. In addition to the pump track, a cycling track and a mountain bike course were also realized there. Contractor KWS Infra took on the project at the beginning of 2017 and found the perfect partner in Velosolutions Benelux for the construction of the pump track and the mountain bike course. On March 10, 2018, top cyclists Leontien van Moorsel, Twan van Gendt, Niels Bensink and Laura Smulders opened the various courses.
