World Championship fever on the PumpTrack: Loosdrecht hosts Dutch qualifier for UCI World Championships. On Saturday, September 26, the Bibian Mentel Playground in Loosdrecht will be entirely dedicated to speed, skills, and the battle for a ticket to the world stage. This year, the iconic Velosolutions PumpTrack is hosting the Dutch qualifying event for the Velosolutions UCI PumpTrack World Championships.

Riders from home and abroad will battle it out in the Youth, Elite, and Para categories. What is at stake? A coveted spot in the world final of the UCI PumpTrack World Championships. Moreover, the competition in Loosdrecht is the final qualifying event of the season where riders can still qualify for the world championship. This promises to be a spectacular and international battle, where the pressure is high and every hundredth of a second counts. The Bibian Mentel Playground provides a fitting backdrop for this qualifying event. The track is known as one of the most inclusive PumpTracks in the Netherlands and welcomes riders of all ages, disciplines, and levels. BMX riders, mountain bikers, and para-athletes come together here to push limits, challenge each other, and above all, go very fast.

“PumpTrack is a sport that challenges everyone: young and old, recreational and elite athletes. That is precisely why the Bibian Mentel Playground is the perfect location for this qualifier. It is a place where talent, inclusivity, and community come together. We are hugely looking forward to welcoming the best riders from the Netherlands to Loosdrecht and competing together for a spot on the world stage,” – Tim Smit, Director of Velosolutions Benelux.

PumpTrack is one of the fastest-growing cycling sports worldwide. The combination of technique, flow, and explosiveness makes for spectacular races where hundredths of a second make the difference. Riders complete the course without pedaling; speed is generated entirely by 'pumping' over rollers and banked turns.
In addition to the battle for qualification for the world final, the event is also dedicated to the further growth of the PumpTrack sport in the Netherlands. Therefore, there is more for visitors to experience than just the official races. For instance, children and beginner riders can get acquainted with the sport during various side events. Among other things, there will be a mobile PumpTrack and a wheelchair course, so that visitors can experience for themselves how challenging and accessible the sport is. Additionally, a special Kids Run is being organized, where young participants can tackle the course using BMX bikes, scooters, skateboards, and other equipment. Registration for these activities opens soon.
The public is warmly welcome to experience the races up close and experience the unique atmosphere of the pumptrack community for themselves.
